Check out these bloopers from last weekend’s shoot:

After a successful weekend shoot at the coast, the post-production process has begun. I finally was able to log and capture the 6.5 hours of footage shot Thursday and am now in the middle of putting some scenes together. The first one roughed out was the beach duel. It still needs lots of work, but it looks good.

We’re shooting another 8 scenes this weekend, including a Sunday afternoon shoot at a doctors office in Albany.
If you have not scene Beach Runner, the original, you can view it at YouTube in parts. The first part is currently up, with the following 5 coming shortly. View it here.
This last weekend, production took place near Waldport, Oregon. We filming about 20 different scenes in 5 locations. Overall the weekend produced some great results. Here’s a shot of the guys getting ready for the World Championship race.

Here’s a look at a car camera mount we just built. It attaches to the car using suction cups and a tie-down. It’s used for shots of someone driving or for point of view shots from anywhere on the car.
Thanks to friend Bo Mackey for help building it.

We’ve nailed down the shooting schedule for the weekend of June 9-10. Click here to view it and find out when you’re scene is being shot. All locations will be in Eugene.
We’re planning 2 weekends of heavy filming in early June and are in need of extras who want to be in Beach Runner 2. Here’s what we need:
MALE RUNNERS: Saturday, June 2. Oregon coast (near Waldport). We need 10-15 runners for about 4 hours beginning late morning. Lunch and teeshirt provided. Ages needed, between 16-35.
MEMBERS OF THE PRESS: Sat, June 9 – 3:30. We need 4-10 people that could carry microphones, notepads cameras following Leeton Kramer as he walks to his car. Ages: 25 and older. (Eugene)
PARTY GOERS: Sat, June 9 – 7pm. We need min of 10 people, but it would be great to have 20 people that are “at a party.” It will take less than one hour. (Eugene)
THUGS: Sat, June 9 – 9pp. We need 2-3 Thugs that are responsible for taking out Jimmy’s knee. Minimal lines. Ability to drive a car and look mean a must. (Eugene)
More details to come. Interested, leave a comment below.
I’m very excited to announce that we’ve found a music director for BR2. Ryan Rossman was in studio with me for much of the weekend working on the music for the movie. He’s very talented and is excited to be part of the production.
He’s working on themes and basic BR tunes that we’ll use throughout the movie. The final scoring of the movie won’t be done until the final edit.
Production is moving along at a pretty good rate. Last weekend we were in Portland shooting at a few different locations. We shot at Vogies Bar, David Douglas High School, the basement of a church and at Josh and Kameron Dill’s house.
I’d say at this point we have about 40% of the movie filmed. We’re hoping to find another Saturday or Sunday in the next month or so to shoot here in Eugene and we’re scheduled to be on the Oregon Coast the weekend of June 1. With any luck that will put a wrap on the shooting and then we’ll slide right into post. We’re shooting for an August 2007 release date.
